Mostafa Saeed
Ph.D. Student in NLP · MBZUAI · Abu Dhabi, UAE
I am a Ph.D. student in Natural Language Processing at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), where I work in the Arabic AI Modeling (Aram) Lab under the supervision of Prof. Bashar Alhafni.
Before joining MBZUAI, I was a Research Assistant at the CAMeL Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi, working with Prof. Nizar Habash. My work there focused on morphosyntactic disambiguation and lemmatization for Modern Standard Arabic and dialectal Arabic, and on Classical Arabic, where I worked on improving morphosyntactic disambiguation for Quranic text.
Earlier, I worked as an NLP & ML developer with Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as a teaching and research assistant at MSA University, and as an academic researcher with the Islamic University of Madinah. I received my B.Sc. in Computer Science from MSA University and the University of Greenwich in 2022.
My research focuses on Arabic NLP, with interests in computational morphology, lemmatization, morphosyntactic disambiguation, and diacritization. I am also interested in downstream applications for dialectal and Classical Arabic, as well as the development of Arabic language resources, corpora, and evaluation benchmarks.
I am always happy to chat about Arabic NLP and potential collaborations for any other ideas as well. Feel free to reach out by email.
